Hi again everybody, and a special welcome to our 5th graders who are now part of our middle school group for Sunday School - we're so glad you guys are part of our group! Remember, we're studying about the kings and prophets in the Old Testament during the time of the Divided Kingdom. Here's our question to get us thinking about this week's lesson:
What kind of message should God send to a wicked king who is purposely leading his country away from God - a message of hope and promise, or a message of judgment and destruction? Why?
As always, leave a comment with your answer. Go ahead and choose "anonymous" from the 'comment as' drop-down menu when you leave your comment. If you want to get a prize on Sunday (and you're one of our middle schoolers at FPCW), be sure to leave your initials or some way for us to identify you. Have a fantastic week and we're looking forward to seeing you in Sunday School!

I think it should be a message of hope and promise because it will bring him closer to God but if it was of judgment and destruction he would pull farther away from God :)
ReplyDeleteJaP:spahgetti-o's are awesome
Thanks for the comment, JaP! Interesting that we found out that God DID send Ahaz (the wicked king referred to in my post) a message of hope and promise through the prophet Isaiah, but that didn't change Ahaz's mind. He totally rejected God's word and instead went to Assyria for help . . . and we know what kind of trouble THAT got Judah into!
